It's time to mash the place up!!! That's right, Barcore is back again for another installment of megabit madness and omnidigital obliteration!!!

w/ LIVE PA's FROM:

MOCHIPET
Image
[Daly City, CA]
Daly City Records | Peace Off | Tigerbeat6 | Death$ucker

Born in Taiwan R.O.C., Mochipet did not get his start in music until the age of 15, when the beckoning call of learning to play metal guitar took hold in Livermore California. Then in 2002, Mochipet started writing and putting out his own CD-R released independent albums, which he gave out to anyone who wanted them. He soon started to gain a lot of notoriety and was then approached by Tigerbeat6 to put out a split 12" and released his first official album "Combat". A vibrant and fun look into the intensely mashed up world of Mochipet, where he pitted people like, Barry White versus The White Stripes versus White Lion, in a sonic battle of the ultimate rhythm collision. Since then Mochipet has been on a non-stop streak of putting out some of today's freshest and original beats on a number of domestic and international labels. Pounding out destructo-pop-rave anthems, techno gabber infused breakcore, low-bit electro rock, mashed up gltich-hop or digital grind metal, Mochipet has all the bases covered. Just as he was dropping his "My Gucci Chainsaw Ass Clap Attack" 12" vinyl release on France's highly respected Peace Off Records, he founded his own label Daly City Records, which saw the release of 2007's wildly popular "Girls [Heart] Breakcore". Which has won high acclaim from fans and critics all over. Mochipet has shared the stage with the likes of Coldcut, Felix Da Housecat, M.I.A, Kid606, Neotropic, Fabio & MC Rage, Bogdan Racynski, Otto Von Schirach, Eats Tapes, Modeselektor, Doormouse and Books on Tape, just to name a few. He has also been featured and reviewed in publications such as: Village Voice, URB and XLR8R Magazine. Coming straight from the latest leg of his European tour, Mochipet is touching down in New York City and will be setting off his U.S. part of the "Microphone & Muffins" tour to get every beat hungry fiend an overdose of mashed up mayhem. Check out his links for free downloadable mixes and audio clips of releases.

NULLSLEEP
Image
[New York, NY]
8bitpeoples | Astralwerks | Microdisko | No Sides

GameBoys, Nintendos, anthem breakbeat fused computer rock and a live performance that will have all the old school [and new school] gamers/party goers jumping around just like if they were a childhood video game icon themselves looking for more than a 1-up. Founding father of the 8bitpeoples label, Nullsleep has been one of the most prolific chiptune artists of modern times. He started his label back in 1999, which has been focusing on chiptune/videogame-influenced releases and the 8bit home computer aesthetic. Since then, he has been pushing chiptune composition above and beyond the limits. Playing all over the world, Nullsleep is a name you will hear coming up often when it comes to the wild world of GameBoy hacking and music manipulation. Recently Nullsleep was featured in "Reformat The Planet", a documentary about the Blip Festival [a chiptune festival held every year in New York City], which is being premiered at the SxSW festival this year. He has also been given the chance to perform at SxSW festival with label mates in an 8bitpeoples label showcase. Delivering 2007's "Electric Heart Strike" on the 8bitpeoples label, Nullsleep brought forth a low-bit beat driven juggernaut that continues to tear up the space-time continuum. Chiptune intensity at it's finest, done with elegant precision, Nullsleep's production work showcases some serious detail for unrelenting groove work that will dominate dancefloors anywhere it's heard. Fans of electroacoustic music everywhere will all rejoice at the reinvention of childhood heroic anthems when Nullsleep hits the stage. Check him out along with all his label mates as they are surely some of the most innovative people within technology and music today.

VOIDSTAR RUNNER
Image
[New York, NY]
Ghetto By Association | Theory Events | WRSU 88.7 FM

Beware the intergalactic cyber gltich warrior...Voidstar Runner's technologically advanced methods of operation run the gamut of out of this world beat programming and sampling that draw on the most essential components of every sort of music that exists today. Wether he's dismantling and creating schizoid mutant breakcore, bashing up trip-hop or cold crushing on some seriously heavy yet atmospheric dubstep, Voidstar Runner knows how to make all the space cadets get down. For years now, Voidstar Runner has been playing throughout the Northeast U.S. and is consistently working in New York City to organize events. He was also a critical part of WRSU 88.7 FM for years, where he ran his show called Artifacture. His production work captures a unique cinematic sound that could be seen as a the type of music featured in some far off remote part of the universe where good and evil alien forces battle for the control of every dimension known or unknown. Even in it's inhuman resonance, cadets recognize the familiar trace elements of hyper-sonic drum n bass and dancehall heavy rhythms gone haywire. Be sure to witness this technoid giest in action as he delivers some fanatical beat trickery which just as quickly morphs from overdriven break beat mania, to gltich-hop and everything in between right down to low-res funk.

CHEEZFACE
Image
[Wilkesboro, NC]
Hemlock Records

An audio nightmare that could be directed by the demons that run David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick's minds. Droning wails of obscured destroyed breakbeats, powernoise, towers of bass and elements of grind that will have all the walls falling. Yes, this is the one and only, Cheezface and there is no mistaking that he has put together what could arguably be, music that can hurt people. Although don't let his maniacal disposition scare you off, at least not yet. Brewing an unapologetic audio display of hysteria, watching Cheezface is like watching a car crash at 150 mph and not only being intrigued, but also not being able to look away. Unleashing harsh vocal attacks and tortured random old film samples, Cheezface haunts minds and makes the crowd frantic with pummeling experimental deconstructed broken beat malice. Recently putting out his first EP titled "Cabdriver Confessions", on Hemlock Records, Cheezface brings the world into his scatterbrained psycho beat butchery, while leaving you in the woods with a vague recollection of what just happened and where you might have been. His live performances are quite the experience as he dispenses broken audio beatdowns from behind the signature face of cheez. A site to behold, we invite you to come examine the mind of the conspicuous Cheezface.
