A Friend Bought Me Tickets To See Him In Chicago Soon.
Unfortunatly Lately I Pretty Much Stopped Listening To Him (Except Skelechairs Even Though I Like The Doormouse Megamix More) And Don't Really Like Him Anymore.

I saw him at bangface weekender this year and there is no denying his technical prowess is immense. His set was for me, the highlight set of the whole thing! That's the only time i've heard him live and he was incredible that evening and the whole place went up so i can't comment on what else i've read (all this has come as news to me!) but yea that set i throughly enjoyed it. Aaron Spectre was on just before him if i remember correctly and i thought he was class but Venetian was a step up it must be said.

Set ended i left with a massive smile on my face couldn't be happier, went back to me chalet to the sight of my pal running up to me crying sayin "jesus is coming, what have i done!", the whole room destroyed, plates and glasses and ceiling lights smashed to f*ck and spread everywhere. Completely killed my buzz worse than anything ever has but had to sit with the lad and sort him out of course. hour of trying, said to him "look at the sunrise its beautiful mate what you worryin about" which made him flip completely and he ran off. Couldn't be fucked chasing him.

Found out later he went down the beach running up to people shouting about Jesus again and got battered.

Sad, yet very highly amusing story looking back. (He's alright now though :) )

i got forwarded this as an e-mail regarding Mr Funk:

Venetian Snares Technical Rider.

If you have any trouble finding this exact equipment you must contact
the agent right away.

The Dennon CD decks are extremely important for the show, and many
promoters have had trouble finding them in the past. Please look for
them as soon as the show is confirmed. If one of the below DENON cd
decks is not available then Snares can not play.

PROMOTER PLEASE PROVIDE:

(in order of preference)

1 Pioneer DJM 800 mixer or Pioneer DJM 600 mixer

+

2 Denon DN-S5000s or

2 Denon DN-S3000s or

1 Denon DN-S3000 and 1 Denon DN-S5000 or

1 Denon DN-D9000 or

1 Denon DN-D6000 or

1 Denon DN-D4000 or (can't scratch on these but ok in a bind)

1 Denon DN-D4500 (can't scratch on these but ok in a bind)

note: no substitutes, no Pionneer etc decks, no crappy Gemini mixer. If
the requested

equipment is not provided, or not functioning, Venetian Snares cannot
and will not perform.

Channels MUST be panned hard left and hard right for accurate stereo
imaging and under no circumstances should both channels be sent through
one monitor or speaker as to avoid phase cancellation or any other audio
problems caused by mixing the left and right audio channels. Mixer
channels must be left unprocessed without any reverb or delays. All
other channels (house music, other microphones/equipment lines) must be
turned completely down before artists performance and during the Whole
entire duration of performance.

SOUNDSYSTEM: Stage Monitors: at least 2 loud stage/floor monitors and/or
two loud sidefill/drumfills. Front of house speakers must be capable of
stereo and have a crossover system with at least one subwoofer. The
subwoofer is essential for the show and has to be provided by the venue.

VOLUME: Venetian Snares will not play at a capped db level of 105db or
less. LOUDER the better.

SOUNDCHECK: Let's check if the crap you rented is broken or not!

HOSPITALITY / BACKSTAGE

The following must be provided to Venetian Snares, free of charge:

Hot Vegetarian meals.

Vegetarian snacks such as fruit and vegetables, cheese etc, whatever, no
meats or fishes.

Dancing bejond jour limits and going even furter tel evrything is broken in jour body....I remove my T shirt not to ofend people, but to remove the intens burning heath on my body.....Snares is 1 of the 3 Breakcore GODs but the hole Tshirt thing made me feel sad and it spoit my nicht.

how great can the show be if its essentially a loud PA playing his tracks verbatim? its not like its an aaron spectre show where he's sequencing and chopping his shit live. if you ask me, its not worth it to see him live unless you get to see someone like otto von shirach along with him. he's a great producer, but the best breakcore shows that ive seen are ones like baseck, where the guy actually does something onstage.

I'm going to see him in December in LA and he's going to be teamed up with Otto, which is perfect. I can't wait. :D

totally agree, that shit is lame. who told u i cant play his shit better using freakin denons?

i mean. have u seen mr. kill's live? you can hear a Sound going as he pesses keys on his keyboard - thats what i call a freaking live performance. even ableton live can give u better flexibility and liveliness but cd dj-ing is shit

I've missed him two times in a row here!
First time because my ride got sick, and there was no way to get there,
and second time because I broke my leg...>_<

But I'm hoping he's gonna get here sometime soon again.
And that he brings his good mood ghehehe.

Check ya!

I did a show with him in Denver last june. He might only be Djing CD's but he has great mixing skills & excellent use of his effects! If I didnt think it was cool I wouldnt be bringing him back to town, but I am.
