VENETIAN SNARES



Aaron Funk (born January 11, 1972, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada), a producer of vastly varying types of electronic music, gained a profile in experimental techno circles with his signing to the Planet Mu label run by Mike Paradinas (aka µ-Ziq). It's a tribute to his production prowess that his base of Winnipeg, Manitoba, hasn't prevented IDM enthusiasts around the world from investigating his recordings.

Often abbreviated to "Vsnares" -- Funk's distinctive style reflects unconventional time signatures and extremely rapid and erratic rhythms. Unpredictable and stimulating, the effect is intense. His style has been critically acclaimed, notably by the late British radio disc jockey John Peel.

Funk's first release was Greg Hates Car Culture, an EP for the History Of The Future Label, followed by Salt for Zhark and Fuck Canada // Fuck America with Stunt Rock for CLFST. When Mike Paradinas heard Greg Hates Car Culture, he immediately signed Funk for Planet Mu. The first Venetian Snares LP on Planet Mu, Making Orange Things (a co-production with Speedranch), dropped in early 2001; following in short order were 5 more releases, all released before the end of 2002. Funk continued recording for a variety of labels including History of the Future, Isolate/DySLeXiC ResPonSe, Hymen, Addict, Zod, Distort, Low-Res and Sublight Records, and has also recorded as Snares Man!, BeeSnares, Snares and Senetian Vnares.

OTTO VON SCHIRACH



Otto von Schirach is an IDM and breakcore artist from Miami, Florida. He is of Cuban/German descent. He has released most of his work on the Schematic and Beta Bodega labels, and was featured in the 2002 documentary Electro-Dziska. Otto's live performances include outfits, masks and props, and he has toured with the band Skinny Puppy. He is also credited on the Skinny Puppy albums The Greater Wrong Of The Right and Mythmaker. He also does a large amount of work in the areas of music production and remixing and has collaborated with several artists such as Modeselektor.

CYRUSREX



Cyrusrex has an extended history in the LA Electronic Music Scene, starting out as the sound designer for annodalleb in 1995, he quickly became recognized by the local music community. Since annodalleb, he has moved on to collaborate with KDC on DARKSKIES, worked on several projects with BOL, and Skinny Puppy. In 2004, Cyrusrex completed his first release all.ofmeHyde, a well received album, featuring remixes by Venetian Snares, cEvin KEy, Anon, Vaclav and SQUIGG.
