We're keeping things warm this December with some audio mayhem that is sure to keep the cold outside and fire inside all night. Featuring a line up that we are very honored to be hosting, downtown is going to be a hot bed of insane auditory action this winter...

w/ LIVE PA's FROM:

RICHARD DEVINE
Image
[Atlanta, GA]
Warp Records / Schematic Records / Sublight Records

Richard Devine's heavily dense multilayered sound is an unmistakable snapshot of modern technology and a modern mind, living about 5000 years ahead of everything we know now. His extensive knowledge of music production and sound design reaches back into '93 where he first started learning computer synthesis and started building, manipulating, and programming machines of modern music. He has written and produced numerous independent albums, which have won him high acclaim from critics world wide, while also doing remixes for Aphex Twin, Slicker, and Phoenecia, among others. He has also been known to work on soundtracks for film, television, even video games. His music not only reflects this vast knowledge, but takes you into another realm where "a million minuscule sounds, obediently march to the cadence of a heavy step." Microscopic snippets of funk, noise, atmosphere, glitch-hop, broken rhythms and enough bounce to give any avid music fan an unforgettable experience. We are very proud to have Mr. Devine with us on the night, as he is sure to deliver maximum freeform destruction.

VYTEAR
Image
[Philadelphia, PA]
g25productions / Fathme Records

Quickly gaining much praise the world over, Vytear is another great example of the state side rise of independent producers today. With 2 albums under his belt and dropping a heavy split 12" last year with Eustachian, Vytear has been busy blowing up some of Europe's biggest breakcore events, while also holding it down in the U.S. underground scene. His music has an unstoppable groove that will rip most peoples mind into shreds as he smashes and crashes his way through countless rhythms and breaks, it will get any hopped up party goer jumping around like a loon. Unbelievably influenced by just about every form of music out there, Vytear knows how to blend seamlessly through tons of, what would be clashing genres, while maintaining an overall cohesion and dropping enough lethal dance floor flavor that will have all the beat freaks rabid for more.

MERK
Image
[Queens, NY]
Apocalypse Recordings / Six Feet Underground Records / BudBurnerz Production / Renegade Virus

A local veteran of the global underground hardcore scene, Merk has been holding it down since the late 90's. One of the original members of Apocalypse Recordings and playing alongside some of the biggest hardcore producers today, Merk has been invited to tear up sound systems world wide for years. Merk knows how to hold her own, always playing live, she makes the crowd move and freak to her unapologetic industrial hardcore assault. Recently having a remix featured on the BudBurnerz album "Hard Twisted Mindz" and also having one of her tracks featured on the Six Feet Underground Records compliation, "Gathering The Dead Part One", Merk's unusual approach to hardcore combines some of the best elements of industrial, noise, 4x4 hardcore and she's even been known to throw some Shakira in there, to spice things up a bit. Never to be taken lightly, Merk's beats are a ferocious smack in the face, that everyone will remember and be asking for seconds.

TWENTY KNIVES
Image
[Hempstead, NY]
Meat Records / Sonicterror / Painfree Foundsound Institute / Mirex

Another local veteran of the scene, Twenty Knives has been slicing and dicing beats since '93 when he dropped his first split 7" with Joseph Nothing on Sonicterror. Known to build his own instruments and working on numerous music projects, 20K's musical ability is limitless. Dropping his "Be Always Righteous Forever EP", this year, on his newly founded Meat Records label, 20K is just getting warmed up. Composing a vibrant collection of glitched out breaks and unpredictable time changes that keep stretching, collapsing and being rebuilt into frantic turbulence, while electro ambience and rough n rowdy drum n bass, tear the walls down. Playing all over the UK and Europe, 20K always gets everyone bouncing and screaming to his huge array of rhythms gone wild. Recently featured on the Mirex compilation, "Gully Gotham Grit Volume 1", 20K is a man to keep an eye on as he is a man with a mission and on the move.

I feel ashamed that I've never seen Richard Devine live and he's from here. He always puts on some shows at the last minute in the middle of the week so I can never go.

where in LI you coming from?

i used to live there...

to answer your question, i believe RJ is going to be opening the night and doing his set through out the night. the live P.A.'s probably won't start until 11-12...

i think [but this could change] this will be the order:

RJ [all night]
20K
VYTEAR
RICHARD DEVINE
MERK

should be bangin all night, even if you show up late!!!
