Sub-Woofer Placement
My current DAW setup consists of two monitors, triangulated for a symmetrical stereo spectrum, and a 12" subwoover placed in the corner of the room on a wooden table about knee height, Does anyone have any recommendations on placement of the woofer in that corner? i.e., facing out towards the center of the room at 45 degrees, facing the corner or a wall, etc. What would be the reasons for such placement?
the subwoofer is an omni source of sound.
it doesn't matter how it sits, just as long as it sounds good in your mixing position. not too overpowering, and not too quite. best way to check this is playing a song you KNOW, and setting the volume accordingly.
the corner is not ideal though. its just a myth. put it somewhere closer to your stereo field.
though, if it sounds right, then don't worry.
