Brand new here, just dropping a hello to everyone.
Anyone use Rob Papens SubBoomBass VST yet? I'm about to buy it...it looks just as good as his other stuff I own.
A little about me if anyone wants to know: I've been playing synths for a long time and just recently got into Hardcore/Breakcore/Speedcore stuff and really like it. I've been under some Industrial rock I guess.
Just trying to get the basics as far as VST's performers like Spor, DJ? Acucrack...etc etc....use in their songs. I'm a hardware guy too with lots of experience and own some decent gear. Just here to make some new friends, learn some stuff...and hopefully contribute what I can. And while I am spouting off, what do you guys think is best music production software? I know....you've heard it a million times. I want to hear it from you guys. Currently messing around with Renoise...I really like it. But I do own FL Studio and Reason, Ableton as well. Well I'm out.
Cheers,
Z

if you are trying to achieve something like spor you might wanna check out massive, you can't really achive the perfect bass with just a synth mate, you gotta get the structure for the sound then bounce her to a wav and process the fuck out of it.
it would be impossible to make a neuro funk bassline with just one synth that sounded anything like spor

Not gonna get Sub boom bass coz already got predator/albino3 and heard its built on the predator engine just with a little more BASSS!!
I personally use Logic pro 8 which i love coz its all there and find it really easy to use. Tried reason but hated it. Just got Ableton 6 for free with my new external soundcard so mite give that a try later on.
Peace

hmm you got me curious about predator and albino. I'll have to read up on em in my free time.
I never used live 6, I went from 5 to 7. I'd recommend giving 7 a try cause they released some nice updates and new features with that version. 8 adds even more, but I'm still finding bugs in 8 and having shit fits with some of my favorite VST's in 8.
Yeah 6 is free so if i like i mite upgrade to 7 but the thought of getting to learn a new DAW is off putting.
Would def recommend Albino and predator. Predator is just Phat with a capital P and albino is awesome in my opinion. Using 8 waveforms to create sound is pretty sweet especially if you stick it in FM mode. I am new to synthesis in general but find those to easy to get on with even if I don't really know the technicalities of what i'm actually doing
