Let's see your headphones.
AKG K 702
Got 'em for $270 after shipping on Amazon.
I need a nice amp for them, because my current one is dead. I'm planning on getting a Gilmore Lite from HeadAmp as soon as they have some in stock.

Yeah man, i dont know if you mean what i mean, but the bass is fucking dominant.
Rock preset usually stands for less bass.

you to the point of ducttape on the headband yet?
na man, it's the fucking pleather peeling off and some ants got into the left ear piece and chewed some shit up on the inside.
that and the chord has the wires exposed by the headphone, so i have to jack off the chord in an upward position to reposition the wire to go up.
but they do the job, i use them for my main production

Actually, it makes the bass deeper, louder, gives it a little more "oomph", and gives the treble a lot more clarity. The difference was night and day on my HD-555s, it improved the highs and lows drastically without any downsides.
EDIT: What I was trying to say was that the Rock preset really balanced out the bass-dominance, got rid of the infamous "sennheiser veil" and generally made them sound a lot better. I tried this on my K 702s though and it made them sound worse, but that's because my K 702s sound perfect without an EQ in the first place.
I'm not sure if it'd work on yours or not, but it's worth trying. I had the best results with Winamp.
