Yea it's pretty cold in march, your looking mid 50's to low 60's so you will defiantly need a 3.2mm full suit. Most surf schools will have wetsuits available and included in the price. I say go to a class or two especially if your planning on surfing alone. Just for safety and to get the hang of things. Find someone to surf with when your there, it's the easiest way to learn, ask questions, we all started somewhere, most of us would be more then happy to lend some advice or a hand.
