Kind of losing ambition.
How do I get back into the breakcore game? I recently was told by one of my favorite artists that my music was atonal and not catchy, and for some reason, it struck me hard. I bet a few of you have lost ambition from time to time. Do I just have to wait for inspiration

wait, so you were told your music snit pop music?
do what you want to do, if people dig it, more props to ya, if they dont, who the hell cares, its artistic expression
i can see how you would be distraught if you were trying to make desirable music for a living but frankly this is like someone saying they didnt like your art. haters gon' hate, keep doing what you want.

Shurre I thougt the same thing frome time to time. My first tracks where all atonal and not catchy pilles of shit....lets make better shit.
Also ....jou have to learn.
Like the last part of joure song, Sapphire. It has some potential and it sounds intresting. use that potential....and also learn to reconize it. Also....joure songs are atonal, Jou have to find a way to improve this.
What programs do jou use?
When listening to oter breakcore tracks, jou have to break them down. Ask jourself: how does the artist make a clymax? How and wy does he use filters and echo efects? How is the song structured?

I'm sure most artists go through that phase from time to time. all the competition can be intimidating. But i see making music as a way to channel my emotions. So do the kids at school make fun of you? Does your boss touch you in an undesirable way? Did your cat just die? Do the kids in you village throw rocks at you? Well fuck them! And use your raw anger in kick-ass breakcore track that YOU like. Don't give up
+1 for being so good it makes me want to quit, and hate my music forever. lol I want to be able to play instruments and other shit. It's hard making melodies straight out of my head, because I can't remember what it was supposed to be structured like, because I'm too focused on emulating the sound in my head.thesavageapesofmars wrote: all the competition can be intimidating.
It's just a hobby, but an important one to me.i can see how you would be distraught if you were trying to make desirable music for a living.

Thanks, that was my first breakcore track ever. And actually, I've been working on side projects and genres, and the song he listened to wasn't breakcore. I was just asking an artist to artist question.
I use FL Studio and Mixcraft. Eventually I'll try to learn to use Ableton, and buy some hardware, but right now I'm a broke motherfucker.
