honest opinion.

the best artist to pull off chip with breaks was epsilon, most people wouldn't know that because he doesn't market himself as the "hey look at me, i make nintendo music to appeal to kids with tight pants and to capitalize on peoples nostalgia". that nigga is tight

most kids . . . i mean teans who make chiptune are fucking tone def and have not one melodic bone in there body.

sick of amens with beeps.

some one has to be melodically inclined to even get my attention.

AA Kurtz is that dude.

Ok the obvious answer should be: check out baseck and of course dj scotch egg...
you can search here for TONS of chiptune tracks, though not all of them are good(most aren't), and only few are "breakcore": http://8bitcollective.com/music/

ATARIX and DJ FHANTOM fuckin love their ChipBreaks or ChipCore or maybe CORECHIPS hahaha well its a bit hard to find decent breakcore-chiptune artists with good sounds true ... i love the nano and bit sounds even when its not core... but its even better when its core

Man fuck crystal castles, seriously I'm surprised they haven't gotten ripped a new asshole from stealing so blatant from others.

Atarix, I haven't talked to him in awhile, I need to check up on him.

as much as i love baseck's dj skills, i find myself walking away to smoke a fag when i hear him turn on his gameboy.

oh how i miss the days when he would just spin records and break them over his head and yell into a crappy microphone

Chiptune doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I don't know why so much 8 bit dross is tagged as Breakcore. I suppose it's impressive that people can meddle with various pieces of hardware and make them sing. I could stick microphones in my Liver and manipulate muscle contractions using electric currents, then I could tell everyone that I produce Organ-core, and 10 euros says that a handful of people might actually care. My point is that whilst chiptune might be bright and happy and perhaps impressive to a certain extent, it still isn't Breakcore for the most part, especially when you tell people that your chosen genre is "Chiptune" and "Only Chiptune". Breakcore may chose to incorporate Chiptune, but if you're only doing Chiptune then it's not Breakcore, it's Chiptune.......................and gay.

Saying that, I do enjoy Scotch Egg live, although he does add some kicks and breaks here and there, as well as a megaphone. It's the chin stroking bland-as-fuck chip tune that makes me want to listen to Vengaboys CDs.

You care because I do

Yeah, I feel the same. His Live@DrunkNES mix is awesome but that and Scotch Egg are really the only times I've been actually impressed by chiptune. It has it's place but to me, the sheer weight of crap nintendo fanboys who churn out the same shit makes finding a decent track a tedious experience.

EPSILON is fucking amazing...

probably one of my favorite producers...

i got a bunch of live sets of his that are so fucking good...

i wished that we could've got him and Maladroit to come over to the U.S. when they were on tour together...

chiptune is interesting at times, but like any sort of "music" it can get repetitive. there are a bunch of great artists out there that write some great stuff and people have mentioned them already. you just gotta sort through it all to really find the gems...

saskrotch is great. saw him live at blipfest in nyc and he rocked that shit...

the 8bitpeoples errr, people  [bit shifter, nullsleep...] do some cool stuff too...

although patric c probably can be sited as doing some amazing chip stuff with his the horrible plans of flex busterman release...

huoratron is fucking good shit too...

Indeed.
I Went Threw A Week Where All I Did Was Look For Good Chip Stuff.
I Found Saskrotch And Some Scotch Egg And One Good Track Called Cling To Your Love By Uh....Shit....Oh! His Name Was Unicorn Dream Attack. But That Track Wasn't Even That Impressive.
Unicorn Dream Attack Is Such A Typical Chiptune Name.
Heh.
