theremin music is the next big thing. theremins going through 500 different speakers and delay pedals in the middle of the desert. then i put contact mics on the feet of a herd of horses and run that through 300 15" active subwoofers set up in a giant circle around the theremins.

that's funny cuz i am taking your idea and doing it now, but instead of using contact mics i am using pc mikes. . . so it sounds more raw

making tracks that you honestly enjoy will never be over.
try to do at least one and if you can do both, more power to you.
music is what it is. i havent been able to bring myself to make a breakcore track in a long time. music moves people in strange ways. you cant make the same kind of music for too long without severly lying to yourself.
i used to get mad at artists when they released music that was different from their old stuff. after listening to more and more music, you slowly realize that metamorphasis is the only trend in human expression. if you study the history of art, from the first cave paintings to today's multi-million dollar blockbuster motion pictures, you realize there are no lasting trends. movies now compared to movies 10 years ago are totally different. they encapsulate a general idea held by society as a whole. we have conversations and interact with people on a daily basis in a giant web of human intercommunication. the internet only magnifies and catalyzes the ever growing, increasingly louder web that wraps this planet. people who are successful in the world of art (regardless of medium) are successful because they are more in touch with this web. good artists see their life and find a way to express it; great artists see the world and find a way to express it. the greatest artists resonate so well with humanity that their vibrations resound throughout human history. the great works that we still relate to today are that way because they encapsulate an overall trend in humanity.
that being said, art is also a time stamp. as new technology arises, it gets used experimentally. a lot of the experimental electronic music that came out of the late 90s, early 2000s was a result of creative people having new tools to creatively use. with the increasing power of computer processing power, we saw a spike in the ability of sequencing technology. just like when guitar amplifiers became a lot louder in the 60s and we saw an increase in loud guitar music, sequencers became faster in the mid 90s and as a result, we got a surge of artists using sequencers to do things like stutter edits and drum rolls. a lot of early breakcore and digital hardcore was really really cool when it came out, but sounds archaic in todays world. anyone with a computer can do that stuff now. i think we as a community of technologically in-touch artists need to look out the newer technology and find ways to musically explore the use of technology. breakcore is not that exciting anymore because there is no scene. people who make it are the only people who listen to it. we can always keep making tracks that are harder, faster, and louder, but is this really what people want? how many breakcore shows have you gone to where people like to sit through constant 1000 bpm snare rolls until their ears bleed?
breakcore needs some sort of change of face. the reason why hip hop stays hip is because the producers stay in touch with the trends in production and are widely open to new sounds (eg autotune.) just like how in hip hop autotune is seeing a decline, we should as breakcore producers should find new sounds to play with (eg not the amen break)
i know i kind of went on a bit of a ramble, but i just wanted to make it clear that if breakcore is dead, its because "breakcore producers" either stopped calling themselves breakcore producers, or that they stopped making music that resonates with people, stuck in their amen-break sounds and stutter edits that don't necessarily have to define the genre.

I no longer refer to any of my projects as breakcore for multiple reasons. Really tired of breakcore producers coming off as though there music is some spectacularly new cutting edge mindfuck that is going to do anything that any other gabber kick soaked distorted amen couldn't. Also the repeated racist, homophobic and overall jock "satire" thing, really isn't that appealing.
