Anyone know any good interviews with Breakcore artists?

Postby djtheblade » Tue Nov 09, 2010 7:18 pm

Looking for sourcing material for this article i'm writing for the zine, so far i've got my mits on that Alec Empire interview with NTR, but i'm struggling to find some (decent) interviews with other Breakcore artists in which at least semi-serious questions are discussed. Anything that talks about Breakcore history, poilitics/idealism, labels and scenes etc. Hit a yuppie up!

Great ! I have an idea... let´s post some questions for otto and rotator in this tread so the interview comes from the ih8breakcore comunity itself. How about that?

I want to know about potential political dimensions to their work? I know Rotator/Peace Off had an activist vein running through it at one point, not sure whether Otto has ever been associated with anything other than fun fun beats ha. Julien, anything you can extract from Frank would be awesome, even if it's just a bunch of noises :)

As for Otto, do you think he'd agree to an email interview for the new zine (it would cover all sorts of bits and bobs)?

is this for a homework assignment??

most breakcore artists i know are pretty anti-politricks. ATR is one of the few examples of political breakcore (i wouldnt even call them breakcore cause they label themselves DHC)

i can ask otto if he'd want to do an interview. maybe he'd be down to do one just on this site and then u can use it for ur zine.

ill get back to u on this.

I'm a bit old to be doing Homework assignments ha, although this zine business could soon very well become my closest school-like homework parallel.

The more I delve in to the core Breakcore routes the more I've found that politics played a major part. In fact i'd definitely say that at one point the scene was dominated by political artists and labels. Even if we discount the DHR roster it's important to take in to account Fringeli and the Praxis and Widerstand crews, Peace off, DTrash, even Zhark to a certain extent....... Eiterherd, Dj Pure, LFO Demon, FFF, Fanny, CDatakill.........Araon Spectre even discussed the importance of politics in his music.

But all that aside, interviews just make generally good reading for the fans :)

I know that Kirdec is very into the politics and individuality stuf.
Heard he does shows in countries, where its forbiden to do breakcore. Stadskantoor Zero was even dadicated to all the oppressed minorities in the world.
I think even his looks are a politic statement.

I will see what I can do about Rotator.
I can also do an interview of the only breakcore promoter in my town (Lyon) called BRK. They are truly activist in the promotion of crazy music in all form so it can be interresting. I play for us on the 20th november with Kodek and lot of local artist, so tell me if you're interrested before that.

i myself am always on the lurk for any Bogdan Raczynski Article or interview i can find. i am highly infatuated with that dude being that he pretty much keeps himself low key. i'd try to hit him up but i'd prolly end up annoying him. Sigh . . . .=(

breakcore producers are pretty much yer normal dudes, if you really want an interview i suggest making a female alias, dudes are sucker for chicks. but to avoid being dishonest have a home girl hit up yer desired artist if you yourself has failed at getting any kind of reply. i myself think it's a bit shady to not reply to someone that has an interest in your passion.

nothing is impossible.

try hitting up istari lasterfahrer, he's the first name that comes to my mind when thinking of current artists that are still making politically charged music
