Silent Hill 5 looks right back on track to older Silent hill goodness and none of that Silent Hill 4 bullcrap. Plus the new main guy is actually a war vet and will have some combat experience unlike all the other everyday joe characters of the past. That should be pretty interesting.....plus pyramid head is BACK!!!!

I never liked the fighting in SH. The best thing was the overall feeling in SH2, killing zombies was just a hassle. I sure hope it's less violence and more terror.

Yea fighting was mostly an option unlike Resident Evil where you more times than not have to fight. I liked SH2 a lot and I had a great time with SH3 cause it had some very nice unlockable stuff. I've yet to play the psp one.

Dang I'm kinda itching to get the Fallout 3 special edition cause I like having soundtracks and goodies.

Silent Hill > Resident Evil

Purely for the paranormal tone of the story. Resident evil was like, oh It's a virus and everything makes sense and it's not even scary.
Kinda like Jedis and 'Midi-chlorians'. Thanks Lucas you bearded git.

Whilst we're on the topic of scary things, jumpy does NOT equal scary. The sooner Hollywood realise this and stop churning out endless gore fests that make me want to go to sleep in the cinema, the better. In fact, let's start a horror movie thread, for genuine scary films only.

You sir, are a hero and I salute you.

SH2 never chocked with a jumpy-moment, it was the overall feeling of the game that was creepy. I think it's the scariest game I've played ever... Forbidden Siren is a close on thou, man, that game was scary and HARD.

Like my DICK.

END TRANSMISSION.

Luck is shinning upon me! The 360 price dropped and I can pick up one for $200! So I'm gonna see about paying some bills, eating lots of ramen and try and get one when Fallout/dead space come out.

The way SH combined your shitty small American town with fog, isolation, air raid sirens and weird industrial alternative worlds was rather kick ass. Most people hail Silent Hill 2 as the king of the series but I think I'm going to go for the first installment. I have fond memories of playing it on my PS1, 5 times through with that amulet to unlock that stupid UFO ending.

I totally got the waterchip in under 30 days. It's not that hard, you just max small arms and you find a sub-machine-gun in the vault.
But yeah, I salute you!
