I Hate Breakcore

Well maybe breakcore wudnt be dead if you all stopped makin shitty dubstep sets and made more breakcore sets!! Theres generally at least 1 breakcore night happening every weekend in belgium! Plus various breakcore releases on various netlabels so i dont see how theres anything to complain about....yeh i just got how stupid this is, tellin a bunch of haters to stop hating...If you think the breakcore being released at the mo is shit then put your money where your mouth is and show us how its done!!

all the breakcore producers have fucked off and started making dubstep. at glade this year I was horrified, the overkill tent was basically 90% dubstep. and that was even with a breakcore-heavy lineup

ebola played dubstep
scotch egg played dubstep
floorclearer played dubstep

etc etc

no disrespect to them because theyre all awesome artists. but i think people should have a bit more staying power. lets face it, breakcore is fucking spazzy. it doesnt have mass appeal, it was never gonna be the biggest and greatest thing to ever hit the dance music scene. so I don't know why people seem to have this "oh its not going anywhere, we should move on" attitude. stick at it and enjoy it for what it is.

Well this is the point I guess, producers wanna stay with the game by producing the stuff that is considered edgy at the moment. Dubstep is big hence a lot of producers wanna keep up and not lag behind with generic Amen slicing. Of course, the real fucking champs are those that are one step ahead of the game, and force something totally unexpected up your cock. If I go to a Breakcore gig and see 4 guys doing Breakstep as they're now calling it (Dubstep Breakcore) and a 5th guy doing something real unique, like totally flexing their production and inspiration muscles, then i'm inclined to have more respect for the latter guy who aint latching on to the trend cus he's keeping it real.

Seriously, everyone should go back and listen to some Xanopticon and Shatterbreak from a few years ago now, that shit imho is still fresher than most of the stuff that has been released in the last 12 months.

they're probably making dubstep because they want to be taken seriously (I mean, it has the endorsment of that bird on Radio 1, it must be proper stuff).

Well if all they want is Mary Anne Hobbe's approval then they're doing the right thing, I don't see why producing Dubstep should be considered indicative of respected recognition or production talent.

don't bash dubstep guys, the genre is progressing harder and harder, there are not that many things to admire about breakcore when it comes to a production point of view. i have always admored basslines and still thrive on making some pretty decent ones mysellf some day

dubstep now is way better then it was in 2005, still can't stand reggae influences in my dubstep, but there is enough brutal stuff out there where you can avoid all that jamacian bs

if you want breakcore you must make breakcore.

or throw a show, it's not that hard, you know the saying, if you build it they will come

I'm quite the opposite, I think that a lot of Dubstep actually lacks the dub element, it's effectively hard 2-step beats with gnarly bass lines and synths, which is all fine and dandy I just don't know what makes it DUBstep.

dont quit making dubstep, just make whatever music you like

dubstep isnt that bad and if its replacing breakcore its because a number of people find it more interesting, maybe breakcore has just gotten a little stale

so go out there and make something awesome
