I Hate Breakcore

its definatly wierd out there at the mo - every lable i speak to says that its all gone tits up and now one is buying records (apart from dubstep) - but these things always go in waves, its a way of weeding out the crap, people that really love the music will always, listen to it , buy it etc. and the rest will fail. then hopefully something will really catch are attention and it will all start over again.... hopefully.

and i also think vinyl sales will rise again as cds disapear and mp3 are the only digital medium - but this might take a while.

i guess the whole thing might just get very diy.

That sucks.

It doesn't help that an awful lot of good Breakcore is much harder if not impossible to get on vinyl unlike CD.

I haven't been able to afford many recently but when i have had the money the tracks etc i want just aren't there.

i really don't like 4X4 but i can handle it in my gabber and old ass EBM, i can't really dig on hearing the same fucking drumbeat for 6-16 hours straight. however it should be pretty obvious now that there is little innovation or creativity in making the most fucked up complex chopped break known to man. i mean it's all been done for years, you can't really get MORE complex than anyone else, and even if you did, snares has a better one. but still. oontz oontz oontz oontz... bitch please!

i think the challenge is to have complex beats that sound 'musically' and 'dynamic' (if you know what i mean). i think dev/null does this well in some songs. like you said, there's not much creativity in making pure chaos. on the other hand you also hear a lot of 4/4 melodies with a backbone of complex beats. i think that 4/4 melody often breaks with the complexity of the beats, which is a shame.
anyway, everyone should just make the music he/she feels good about. :wink:

i can't dig 6-16 hours either, that's obviously too much but same thing is with complex stuff, it all starts to sound same.
what i like the most is 4x4 between complexity or complexity between 4x4 because i like oontz and trrrsjdasiojdvvxxxfkdfdk both but not in large doses.

although everyone needs to have a go at all of them, 4-4, 5-4, 7-4, you know, all the fours! I once did a song in 5-3, but thats really not very human friendly.

Obviously you can't please everybody all the time and have to make a variety but recently i've noticed a decline in Gabba-esque Breakcore.

I'm hoping the 'anger' of the artists who's recent drop in sales may produce some heavy shit!...
