I Hate Breakcore

Hip hop = djing/beat producing + mcing + breaking + graffiti
Its not about bling bling, guns or snoop dog, but its roots r inthe streets

Immortal technique, mfdoom, lateef, gift o gab, pharoe monch/organized konfusion, phat kat, quanum/solesides, el-p, aesop rock, sunspot jones, the grouch/def jux, motion man, edan, tame one, nextmen, braintax, dj vadim, celcius/defwish etc etc.. not so underground but stuff i can think of right now

yeah i probably put my foot in it there, original electro has been around since late 70's early 80's i guess dub & digital dancehall was around before that.
What else is there, as i am ignorant of the history of electronic music before these genres

WHAT?! There's tons of good hip-hop out there. I'm listening to some right now in fact. There is a lot of it that I hate, but that's the same for all broad genres of music. It's not just the commercial shit you see on MTV. And remember, if people like Public Enemy hadn't sampled the Amen break 20 years ago, a lot of the music you listen to now wouldn't exist.

Drumcorps and Vsnares Pwntendo seem to go over well.
Any sort of mainstream references that people can grab onto easily.

On the weekend I was at an event that had a few hip-hop acts, like real Aussie Hip-Hop, which I've always hated with a passion. It just sounds shit to me. I say to my mate afterwards fuck I hate that hip-hop shit and he replied saying "but without it there'd be none of that shit you'd like - you should". Fuck that attitude! I'm not going to grin and bear something purely out of historical respect. Orrl the fresh flowz and the ingeeenious bro's in bagggy clohhhhthez ya noes...just sounds shit to me!

Personally i hate hip hop (although i do have to admit i am very, very ignorant about it) but i can see why people would respect it. And your mate does have a point, if people didn't experiment with music and try new things we would never have new genres, breakcore included. I mean if no one had fucked around with gospel we'd never have had blues-rock and roll-garage rock-punk-metal and on and on and on. I've always thought that if you don't like something, just don't listen. Anyway, i'll stop talking now.
