Has Breakcore been affected by the recession?*

i got $10 to my name and im on the verge of being homeless.

i wouldnt call my shit breakcore though, nor do i care what sounds, samples, breaks, or whatever i use. i make what i want, and its my outlet.

its crazy to think there is money to be made doing this anyways... i mean, have you been to any local breakcore events in the last 10 years? i dont know about you, but the midwest has always been dead. the artists will show up with their girlfriends, and then like 10 dudes show up. thats about it.

are we affected by the recession? emotionally yes, but the scene, come on... was there ever one?

I think for Holland there's more of an overkill than anything else

I think musically it all depends on what you conside 4/4. I notice in a lot of discussions people more often mean 4 to the floor kickdrums as 4/4 than actually talkin about a time signature. To me The combination of staight kicks and breaks can be awesome it's just how you balance the 2. I recently played on patrties where there was nothing but straight the whole night. The only time it was just breaks only was in the actual breakdowns of the tracks which was utterly boring.

I personally am all in for chaotic breaks but I try to focuss on that the breaks are rhythmically correct.

But it's funny to read eveyones comments on the lack of breaks with kickdrums while for me, having played one or two gigs every weekend for the last 2 years the kicks and breaks or the old school rave stuff was the only sound I heard on parties.
