Yes, two days after getting back from Dour. Couldn't have been any more different from each other weather-wise. Dour was hot and beautiful sunshine and Glade... well I'll let you judge for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_ONhfg7 ... ed&search=
Once I'd managed to buy wellies though, everything just carried on getting better. Tim Exile, Aaron Spectre and Producer were awesome at the Bangface night as were Scotch Egg (though his new band are crap), Otto Von Schirach, Dolphin & Teknoist, Enduser, Squarepusher and Society Suckers. Venetian Snares was the big disappointment (other than the weather) after he had a strop and walked off because it wasn't loud enough but the best set was easily UK champion beatboxer Beardyman doing a breakcore/gabba/mashup set using only his voice, a loop sampler and a kaos pad!
All-in-all, I could have used a weeks more recovery from Dour but it was worth it, even with the mud.

No one is too old and fucked up to go to anything. Especially Glade. Old, fucked up types nearly outnumbered us youngsters at times!
i think i'm totally looking back at it through rose tinted specs now. there certainly was a lot of amening genius (enduser absolutely killed it!), but I was just SO cold for such a long time. And 15 quid for a fucking pair of wellies! Capitalists
anyone see vex kiddy btw? They're show was brilliant, properly cheered me up. hadn't heard of them before, or heard anything since really :chin:

Vex Kiddy are two guys who dress up as victorian gentlemen and play breakcore out of a gramaphone as far as I remember. I don't think they have any relation to Vex'd.
dunno if he spat in anyone's face. he always tends to act like a bit of a prima donna tho. he played a few tunes, stop/start style, but they couldn't sink his denon cd decks so he just stormed off. bit of a wanker really...they'd paid for his flights from canada especially. his stuff is good, but not exactly cutting edge anymore - i don't really get the complex
