Shitmat Music Video
Hello all,
I recently made a music video for the Shitmat song "Kiss The Spanner And Call Me Charlie" (one of the first Shitmat tunes I ever heard, and one that has been a favourite to this day).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDNcA2CQUcA
Thought I would post the link here, you might get a kick out of it.
It's the first time I've made something like this, so feedback is both welcome and appreciated. Hope you enjoy watching it.

I didn't make it. The song is "Kiss The Spanner And Call Me Charlie" by Shitmat (http://www.myspace.com/henryshitmat).

I'd like to show it to Shitmat, but I have no idea how I'd go about doing that.
The clips are just animated gif files that I've collected from all over the internet. I made the video using Windows Movie Maker (a basic video creating/editing program offered by Windows - it's crappy, but free). It was just a matter of dragging objects onto a timeline with an audio section and a visual section. The song goes onto the audio section, and then the animated gif files go onto the visual section of the timeline (where their respective durations can be manipulated, and various visual effects can be applied). That's it in a nutshell. It was a long and tedious process, and I listened to the song at least a hundred times while making the video, but it was worth the effort.
Thanks for the feedback.

I realy liket jour movie. It was very random. BUT. I think it needs more movie samples and diversity at the end of it. Stil... a very good job.
Reminds me of the Dolemite Video of Oxygenfad.
Im sure Shitmat wil like it.
Would jou like to be a VJ?

No need to be modest, you can say that you've made it, it's ok. What do you mean with the title? I don't understand it. What is the spanner? Shouldn't it be spank my ass and call me charlie like that teacher in southpark? Anyway's your visuals are great, perhaps you should try and do that for other artists? that would be awesome. I guess making these songs to your videos are a way to showcase your stuff?

Any comment is appreciated, whether it is criticism, praise, or criticism pretending to be praise!

Yeah, for sure - the lack of diversity in movie samples is a main issue I have with the video, and that is an issue I would address were I ever to remake the video, but I doubt that will ever happen. I'm content to leave it as it is.

Well, I'd rather receive honest feedback (positive or negative) than wrap myself in a cocoon, insulating myself from anything and everything that could possibly be interpreted as criticism. There are enough people who post videos on YouTube and demand that they only receive positive comments, imposing in their mind a blanket ban on negative responses.
So yes, your criticism pretending to be praise is duly noted and appreciated.

I like this, it's excellent! Just my cup of tea!
i had the pleasure recently of doing visuals for shitmat, and found him not only to be incredibly friendly, but also thanked me for doing the visuals for him!
here's some stuff from my viduals (no audio, sorry) http://www.youtube.com/user/HausKino#play/uploads/6/lqaoGSvl7aw
and an 'experimental' film i made for my degree with music by enduser, shitmat, bongra, venetian snares, edgey and toecutter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjnhlcGWoDU
in truth I was having to follow an assignment breif i didn't like as it was basically requiring me to be pretentious ans 'arty' so i just took the piss and made the most agressive batshit thing i could!
