Best software for glitchy breakbeat chaos?

Postby davedavidson » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:42 pm

What’s the best software for producing mental glitchy IDM/Breakcore? Can’t get my head around renoise, is it really worth it? Currently using reason and finding it very limited, any recommendations? Have heard some good stuff about Ableton.

just use renoise, view a couple of the tutorial songs, watch some tutorials online, you'll get it soon enough. just put a little more time and effort in it. it's definately worth it.

the software doesn't matter, your brain is your best tool.

Winamp is pretty good for producing Breakcore, all you need to do is find some website that hosts a load of free sample packs, download them, queue them up and hit play.

If you have multiple computers you could even go as far as cue up many sounds and layers on all the computers as you desire. You can now make all the music you want.

That is what makes winamp the best production software in the world. The versatility is amazing, even tiesto uses it.

Yeah a cool trick is to set the tracks to cross fade into eachother so you get an effect like the breaks are morphing into each other!!!
