Classical Music
So who here listents to classical music?
it's Interesting what it has common with breakcore and IDM. Guys like steve Reig and John Cage can even be considered IDM musician's. So are there more people that listen to clasical music as inspiration, or as a way to relax?
My favorite artist is definitely Avropart.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxAs1EBsHYA This is Igorrr. He get inspiration from many genres, but mostly baroque, which is a form of classical music... and of course breakcore.
usually really dig classical music, still give the chopin nocturnes quite a bit of my time.
More than anything though, since we're within the realm of classical styled music, I'll just bring up that I've been really into Max Richter (he def fits into that "maybe idm" category) and Ennio Morricone as of late. A lot of soundtrack music usually takes the place of when i would listen to classical. I generally like when the emotional scheme of the music doesnt move around as much or as often as it does in classical. (or maybe I'm just really partial to everything written in minor scales hehe)

indie music
Wow..... indie music is not wt it used to be....
Google.com
Indie is not classical music.
There is one french musician that you should consider as a pioneer in electronic music, his name is Pierre Henry, he produced many many great recordings, as Voyage or Psyche Rock, etc.
Voyage is great, based on the tibetan book of the dead, one excerpt with some strange dance performance:

Furthermore, my favorite classical musician is Bela Bartok, Venetian Snares sampled him a lot in the pigeon flight album but above that many compositions of Bela Bartok are great stuff.

abuuuurrrrrrrr
Stravinski started riots when "the rite of spring" was first performed. Peeps? Weren't ready for the old cocksucker back in the day. I've seen similar reactions to speedcore!

heard that in a music appreciation class i took a few semesters ago, thought quite highly of it but to this day i still cant get into stravinskis music haha
that stuff makes most modern breakcore seem incredibly structured
I never really was into classical music until recently I discovered Erik Satie's piano works. Now I get where aphex twin gets his piano influences from.

I really like Vivaldi, Beethoven (it's almost early metal), but I like my classical the most with some metal or speedcore:
Dark Lunacy-Stalingrad (death metal)

Mental D-struction - Discharge (one of the best songs I know)
