They've pretty much come out of nowhere, just huge waves of looters smashing up stuff, it's worst in London. This isn't political or anything, just hundreds and hundreds of kids from the rough estates all acting at the same time and burning and looting shops. It's crazy, it's even happening in Birmingham and Manchester and elsewhere. One mate had to stay at mine last night because her area was too dangerous to go down, hundreds of riot police all over the city.

Looks like some real shit. Its, almost like watching Harry Brown.
Im not a big fan of random voilence. Why cant they say, its to save whales, or somthing? in this way, voilence will serve a purpose.

Shit was fucked up, was proper obsessed with it while it was going on.
I have a pretty big issue with that kid who got his PSP knicked out of of his bag when those cunts "helped him up". The only reason that got any attention was cuase it was during a riot, any other day, cunt woulda just been ignored. Although it's great that, yeah, it was caught on video, one of the lads was arrested, Sony sent him a new PSP, but this goes on every single day, and if doesn't make a good news story at the right time nothing'll get done. All those cunts should be chemically castrated.
Did anyone witness any of this shit first hand?

wilmarT wrote:London has been the most dangerous and chaotic place in the world for a couple of days. Buildings, cars, and houses on fire were the scenarios in the recent London riot. The main cause of the riot is still unclear to everybody. Many have cited social networks like Twitter and Facebook as having a significant function in spreading and fueling the on-going riots in London and other parts of the U.K.. But the social networks are also taking a vigorous function in the restoration. They were utilized to manage countless volunteers in a cleaning work. Here is the proof: Londoners gather for riot cleanup effort. For me, there's no point right now for a blaming game, what important now is after the fall, the Londoners are getting up again.
I read it was most likely the reaction to the police firing at a man and killing him, whilst he didn't fire any shots back, when the cops claimed he did. It was most likely a political uprising by using that as an excuse, but rioting seems to be spreading like a plague. First Greece, then Africa, the Middle East, and now England. People are just plain pissed. The kids you see in London's press are just hooligans, and I hope that if it turns into anything bigger, it's at least for a justifiable cause, and not in the name of random violence, and vandalism.

It wasn't political at all, at least not directly. Right wingers love to whinge about how there is a collapse in moral values yadda yadda yadda, as if moral values can be somehow directly bestowed upon the most run-down and decrepid housing estates. If we wipe out poverty and educate everyone then this sort of shit won't happen, none of the middle and upper class kids were caught up in this riot. Imho, a class based analysis is the only valid one here, as is the case with all societal analysis.
Indirectly this could be political, i.e social conditions create the unrest, but as for conscious motivations there was no political statements here really, just gangs of young louts looting for free stuff. Again, destroy the poverty and you destroy the root cause of this behaviour.
