Keeping up with spambots

Postby BreakforceOne » Sat Feb 13, 2016 12:22 am

So if youre not completely blind youve probably seen the (excessive) return of spambots on this forum.

just posting this to say that its hard to keep up with deleting them, especially since it also fucks up the "unread posts" section that will show a topic a spambot posted in forever, because the post is gone and you cant read it. to fix this you gotta post something in it, which i cannot always be arsed to do when its like 30 topics showing :?

Well yea, im trying to keep it under control, sorry for the inconvenience

Awesome solution. Hate bots. People should still get in somehow.
maybe a head topic with note about this and they could email for login....

thats how we have been doing it, If you are serious about signing up you have to send a mail to the mockradar email to get approval.

it has done wonders for no spam and keeping out trolls, it keeps the community real tight, but also not as much attn, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on how u want to look at it... For us it works real well cuz we basically just talk about projects we are setting up or releases we are doing and shoot the shyt amongst ourselves. Our platform is a little different than here.
