Puredata latency problem

Hi Folks,
anyone has any experience with Puredata?
I have problems with the latency, i use a NI Audio Kontrol 1 external SC with normally ~13ms latency (without problems in live or renoise) but in puredata I have to put "delay" up to 150ms to not get any stuttering. I have a decent lenovo X200 Laptop with vista x64.
Is this normal?

might be your 64-bit, vista OS. last i heard, pd didn't run as nicely in x86-64 environments, as it does in 32's.
