proving once again, its not what you use, but how you use it.

obviously some people who use renoise make absolute trash even though
it may be a good program, but with anything, it can still produce some CRAP, and thats not the program's fault. its the user.

im sure you know what im talking about

fuck it though, anyone can use a fucking program, no matter how much it costs.

how's about you learn some schematics, learn to solder, and build some fucking hardware

that takes more skill than point, click - eat a dick

Dudes, just read the manual. Took me about 1 day of reading / trial and error before I could start making tracks with it.

if you are lazy i would advise staying away from trackers. Lazy people and the ease of trackers make garbage. But i love renoise. Easy to jot down ideas and revisit later. easy in application of cutting up samples/breaks. comes with some alright little filters and whatnot.

It's a great piece of gear, stumbled upon it from a discussion on another forum. Tried to pull of Venetian Snares/AT/Autechre stuff in Ableton and Reason, and it just wasn't happening, too much automation, knob and button mapping to do.

I got the Renoise 2 demo, struggled at first, but bore with it, read the tutorials and now I know where I'm going (kind of, only been 3 days).

Get yourself the "Jungle Warfare" sample pack (made by Propellerhead for Reason), import the rex2 files in (they'll just come through as audio), start chopping up and it's nothing but awesome from there on in.

renoise has been my best purchase of 2009. very quick way of producing spastic breaks and annoyingly intricate fills (which i'm a sucker for). the kaneel you tube video sold me. the vincent voois tutorials were quite helpful too. i still feel like i'm not using the program to its full potential, but that's what practice is for.

I have no clue on how to use renoise, Did I take stupid pills this morning?
I dunno.
so does anybody know where I can find a tutorial for dummies on renoise or
something in that vein?

The stuff you can do with (some) trackers is pretty amazing, but the same can be said of pretty much anything else. Not the stick but how you shake it!
