Postby bourzilnonoss » Tue Nov 18, 2014 11:09 pm

Hi brotherhood of BxC

Any idea on using FL live? mapping it with any midi keyboard?
Been trying but can't figure out how to, is it just pure nonsense?

At Break ADX we do use fruityloops for livesets.
What midi input are you using? For example the Launchpad needs drivers other wise it won't work.
So are you sure you have the latest drivers installed and are you getting any input?

i use ableton for both, i used to use flstudio for live but it can be pretty restricting i used to just set up tracks in a kinda playlist and have a dedicated button on my keyboard to launch each track and used the knobs on my controller for volume and effects automation (this was 2004/5 tho), i highly recommend ableton but just whatever works for you

thx all,

as I've never been a real producer but been more into djing I bought a cheap M-Audio axiom 25 to try, I downloaded the drivers and set up everything as I found it was explained on the net but could never figure out how to. It never worked, I mean nothing at all, no input, even thouhg it seems the software recognize the keyboard... :(
- maybe is there something wrong with that particular device? -

on an other hand I'v e been advised several time to switch to ableton or renoise if I really wanted to get into live. So maybe that could eventually be the solution instead of getting crazy?

(by the way I hope my english is understandable as it's not my native language)

I suggest you will move to abelton FL isn't know for it's live performance.
All I producers I know that work in FL have done that for years and I wouldn't even think about sending someone down the FL rabbithole for livesets.
There are many helpfull toturials for Abelton and even me someone who uses Virtual DJ for stage perfomance most of the time can explain most Abelton Live options for livesets. (I use to produce in it, moved back to cubase a month ago)
