So what are your techniques for making yer suuuuuuuuuuuper sick-ass bass?

I usually mess around in analog synths and add a sine wave to the bottom 8)

Pure tones cut at 60hz with another bassline exactly the same over the top thats also cut at 60hz but only the mid + top.
Then you automate the second giving accents and movement.
And stuff.

This is quite a good method.

usually fm synth based, and not terribly elaborate... kinda dinky on their own... try to know where my kick ends and my bass should begin, spectrally. or i cheat and use a sidechain compressorr.... arrrrrrrrhhh it all depends on the bass.

2 ways- or synths on really low octaves or second, muuuuch more awesome for me. Make short pattern with tempo like 1/3 or 1/2 of track, you are doind bass with synths (3-6bars i think), maybe with some bass drums, hhat, cymbals, then sample it, and play it on low octaves. I think it sound pretty damn awesome with all those slow percusion and bad ass bass. With low pitch slides it sound even way more awesome

I usually use a really phat minimoog/moog modular patch with a bit of bitcrushing and sidechained to teh main keyboard line
