"boom" sound?

Postby abel » Sat Dec 06, 2008 7:51 pm

yoyo, might be a noobish question, but i'm looking for a vst that can make those big fat boomy bass sounds, bong-ra uses alot for example, i want to add them to my kicks as a bassline, the sound maybe reminds a bit of a 808 bassdrum but dragged/stretched out! help please! i love this sound and i have no idea how to make it!

peace!

So why don't just stretch 808 bd?
Just add something, maybe distortion or rlittle verb will help ya.

Yeah 808 Kicks Usually Do The Trick That Or Really Stretched Out Dance Kicks Work Well.
I Don't Really Know Of Any Bass Drop VST.

Well, you can use other softwhare to render sample, 4 example FL, btw it's own kick with stretching works ucking nuts-killing, i was telling you!
Have a nice bass=)

You do not need FL at all for streching anything in renoise. You can do this with the 09xx hex.

1) Select how many bars you want to strech your sample over.
2) Fill in every single note to the complete end of the bar/s.
3) On the first note in the effect collum put in 0900 then in the last note of the bar put in 09FF.
4) Highlight the whole effect collum and press CTRL + I
5) Press play

You can then change the pitch of the strech by altering the note/octive. You can get some crazy sounds if you are creative with the codes/pitch.

allright thanks for the tip!
tried it many many times, been sittin here for like two hours, partially trying to achieve that sound and partially exploring the new renoise 2.0.
Can't get the sound i want so maybe its not a dragged out 808 bd after all...
So, the sound im looking for is that boomy bass kinda sound, as i said bong-ra uses it sometimes, also heard panacea use it in his twisted designz song.
