It's an USB midi controleur :

Codanova VMX Studio specs :


- 6 fader (7bit CC)
- 24 rotary (7bit CC)
- 1 crossfader (7bit CC)
- 2 Jog (data increment/decrement )
- 12 led on/off switch buttons
- 5 on/off switch buttons
- 4 switch buttons
- 4 bank pressets
- Setup (all data send)
- external midi pedal jack switch


the VMX studio 2 have several modiffication from the grey one:

- rail mounted crossfader
- DIP switch
- EEPROM 24lc64 socket

those features are usefull to change te midi data sended by the vmx studio 2.
I made a tutorial about changing the internal ROM :

they're kind of fragile... yeah, i'm usually fishing in my gear bag for knobs that fall off when i unpack after a gig, but i really like the pressure sensitive pads... find them very useful for generating control signals during performances.

mine just seems to decide to work whenever it wants.
its as if its a toddler having a tantrum.

it always kicks up a fuss right before a set.

What software are you using with it? Is it not sending midi signals or dropping midi in the middle of things?

and have you tried configuring it with m-audio's enigma program? mine would get wishy-washy before i went in and told it what to do. sometimes you gotta assert yourself among the machines :wink:

yeah man, i've linked it up fine, works great SOMETIMES.

just seems to breakdown far too often randomly and it often means restarting my laptop which is a right pain in the arse

Trying using a USB hub with it. Plug in the USB hub, then plug your trigger finger and whatever other midi devices you use(if any else) in too. Should straighten it out a bit.

Korg Nano Series is pretty useful in any situation.

The Novation Nocturn looks useful but the Akai APC, oh christ that looks awesome.
