I quite like David Kronenberg as well but my favorites are John Carpenter & Stanley Kubrich.

Peter Jackson who directed Braindead & Lord of the Rings made Bad Taste too. What a fuckin geezer. 8)

Really wanna get Creepshow on DVD, they've released the boxsets in HMV at the minute, proper cheap!

In fact HMV is fuckin bozak for cheap decent DVD's at the minute. :D

yeah :) I'm well into me films .. got the full david lynch hit - top top top. and stanley kubrick .. that man was clearly the daddy ahhh yes. darren aronofsky and terry gilliam are also ace.

some asian gore/horror stuff is amazing. check out Audition, Old Boy, Ichi The Killer, Tetsuo if yah haven't... lets just say no one does shock + gore like the japanese

Me too!...Almost as much as i'm into my music. My fella calls me a horror/gore film geek.

(Oldboy is South Korean BTW) Any i have most of those ones you mentioned already, absolutely <3 foreign films. I've got all the movies by Chan Wook Park, legendary.

:)

Not seen Audition though, looks good.

@fap

Eraserhead is a masterpiece, confusing at first. Did you know it took David Lynch (crew) 5 years to make this movie. All the cast were doin it at night in their spare time & most of them could never be bothered to turn up.

I fuckin cum over South Korean movies, they're the cream of asian cinema at the moment. Weird, but not too weird, gory, good effects, effective plots n storylines, gritty, brutal, sexy...you fuckin name it. :)

Will check all of those out.

I don't watch enough Asian cinema TBH!

Thanks

Yeh me too. I love the way they speak as well, always leave me transfixed. It's like they communicate in sounds & grunts rather than a language.

I haven't watched Kung Fu Hustle in ages. I've got it on DVD, bought it from Ebay for £2.00 :D

Thanks, will keep a look out for Versus. :)

I have oldboy and enjoyed that. I've been meaning to read the manga its based off of. I've never watched Ichi the Killer, but I read a good bit of the manga its based off of also. It was some of the most brutal shit I've ever read. They made an anime of Ichi also and its pretty fucked up, but worth a watch...even though the animation is rather cheap.

I have Versus and I liked it alot also. I think it got rereleased recently(try saying that 3 times fast) with lots of nice bonus stuff.

If you want some nice kung fu action, lots of gore and cheesy its damn funny, then you need to watch Riki Oh (aka. story of Riki) It has some pretty brutal and over the top fights in it. People in the US my recognize a scene from it used on the Daily Show when they would quiz guests at the end of the interview. They used the infamous head crusher scene.
