I never know where to use breaks

Postby Flyingape » Sun Sep 19, 2010 2:58 pm

I want to, but I never know how, or where to use them. :(

How do you go about this? Just put a random break in and go back to a normal beat? Or do you use breaks as your normal beat?

I'm a break noob. haha

Start by making some "unbreaked" music like drum & bass or hardcore, for practicing your workflow. When you will be able to do something good without break it will be time to start to break it ;-)

Well that´s like up to you... But i think i know what you mean. I for one like to alternate breaks with gabberkicks and weird percussive samples.

Anywhere, where you think they fit. As long as it sounds good to you, what does it matter where to put or not put a break? :D
