I agree that the amen break should be used less often (as in, much less often). Exploring other sounds would help this genre sound a lot more diverse. I wouldn't throw it away though, it's a good break. But it's not the only break so.... yeah... find other ones to use please.

the only problem i see with the amen break. and i mean

THE ONLY PROBLEM.

is that people tend to use this un-equilized amen loop for an entire song. when this is not a proper MAIN break. there is no power behind it.

and so many people use it as the BASE break for the track.

using amens after the climax of your track is most times the only proper production scheme.... to build up to rattling rolling....

oh well.....

Check out Deformer he avoids the Amen Break played in his own breaks.
