i go with the 707 for two reasons:
1- is the first drum machine i had my hands on
2- i love that dry , elektro-ish stupid sounds! the clap is SO 80's

First Drummachine I ever owned was a 505... Thing sucked. But I painted it red, and it atleast looked cool ;)

I like the 606 i love the hats, the snares, all of it. kick is kinda weak though... but

Had to say the 808 as what got me into music in the first place was oldskool electro. Dont own one personally though as theyre way too expensive but i do have a 707 MIDI'd up to a novation drumstation... thats practically an 808

My first drum machine was an alesis sr 16.

lol, my first was the hr-16. I used the crap out of that thing, hooked it up to an octapad and made my own bass drum trigger. The sounds can actually do some fun shit if you completely tweak them out. It was durable too. At one point I lived in a house with a roof that leaked terribly and water got all over it. all I had to do was take it apart, wait for it to dry, and bingo it worked again.

I love the sounds on the 808.

Ever hear of the Zoom RT-123? It was a total peice of shite. However, me and some friends managed to shred in an industrial band cranking that thing out through 2 giant church organ speakers. I think it was drum kit 56 that had this ball crushing industrial sound to it.
