yesterday i tried using dblue glitch on some bassline, and that really sounds cool.

if i use it on breaks,i find that its sooo easily to hear that glitch is being used,so i wont be using it on breaks

it is overused but i usually use it for vocals. I only use one effect at a time, and not spam the random effects button.

Are there any separate VSTs for retrigger-/timestrech- and gater-effects with more control than The Glitch?

why hate people and their music just because the vst they're using?

if it is used properly, it can sound wicked as hell!!
and even though a lot of producers use this vst, there are a lot of musicians who use a guitarist... or drums.. or they have a bassplayer...

some bands have singers.. or a dj..

my point? stop b*tching about people (over-)using this vst..

i love it, i use it a lot, and i don't mind at all if other use it too.
therefor it is called freeware, right?

and if you really really don't like it, go make your own anti-glitch topic

(i am not trying to be hated or anything, just can't stand the 'hate' and 'fully anti' posts!)

Yes.

dBlue made a stretch vst which is better than what there is in Glitch..

also.. there's tweakbench's cairo which is a gater... sorry I can't get a link right now but it's very easy to google.. tweakbench. that's all.

dBlue also made a tape stop vst.. and a modulator..

and for the retrigger.. there's instajungle..

dBlue's stretch is by far my favorite.

used to use this plugin all the time, but it gets boring and it does have a limit.

There is an awesome one that came with one of the really old versions of Reaktor. Like version 2 I think, was called First stretch or something like that. Its pretty cool, works with a series of delay modules and with some playing around with you can also get it to do reverses and retriggering too. Attach a couple of envelopes to the rate quantity an you got yerself a pretty sweet glitch toy type thing.

I'll have a fiddle about with it an post it up here at some point if anyone is interested.
