Pitch-shift on tracks
Seriously,
sometimes when I upload tracks they play in a lower key on this page. The pitch of the track is lowered, but the length stays the same.
Has this happened to anyone? What can I do to stop it?

Shift your entire track's pitch up so that when you play it on here it sounds right.
I've never noticed the problem though.

Too hard, I'd have to analyse the exact pitch-drop and adjust accordingly.
I'd much rather see an easy explanation to wtf I'm doing wrong. The file plays just fine at my computer, but in a lower pitch online. It's just so friggin weird.

Are you uploading to archive.org or straight to this site?
I always upload to archive and I've never had any problems.
Either way, that's a really weird/random problem. Maybe try a different format? Wav instead of mp3? I don't know.

You can only link to mp3's, and I use my own FTP.
I could try to re-upload it I guess. But then I'd have to re-add the track.

thats so strange. that might be something to do with the sample rate you export at. make sure its 44.1k other than that, i have no idea what would be wrong with the player.

It's the one I always use, FL's own MP3 encoding.
I guess I could try to export it to wav and encode it with CE2's encoder instead... but I still think it's weird that I'm the only one with this problem.

I had the same thing happen to me a long time ago. I uploaded some really old tracks and they were all playing like some bent and screwed swisha house record. I went and deleted them and never tried to upload them again.
So far all the newer stuff I've uploaded has been at the right speed. I have no idea what is the problem.
