I can see the potential for awkwardness if you break up and are always at the same events. but it still sounds better than dating the girl who strictly listens to the radio.

not all people listen to the radio, there are all kinds of people that have good qualities in them besides their interests in music.

Personally there's no way I'd date anyone not into the same music as me.

i've found that if i don't date guys at least somewhat into breakcore, they hate the fact that i make it and play live and refuse to go to my shows. and i'm not really going to waste my time with someone who can't support my passions.
