I Hate Breakcore

In Seattle, Dubstep conquered everything last year but it already started to slow down a bit. There's still a lot of dubstep parties, but it seems the "big thing" around now is electro house. I'm fine with dubstep, I like a lot of it, but I'll always prefer breakcore. There's only one night out here that caters to that and I'm one of the resident DJ's for that night....yeah...

ive hit the front end of this dilema myself, like cardopusher, ebola,... talk to these cats, luis and ben and really good friends honestly, and its all about where this SCENE is going in the end.

PERSONALLY, i get shafted when i play breakcore, and breakcore i written all over the flyer, and 20 people come to the show, and i leave with a hanful of euro coins., not that fun.

i wrote some dubstep for FUN. and when i showed it to some promoters. i got offered 300 eur + hotel, + girls, + beer to do a show in slovenia.

so its really how far you wanna sell yourself to make money with MOST people

it just so happens, i love t owrite dubstep, so to switch up and play 1 dub gig in a breakcore tour,... would technically, pay for the rest of my touring.

think about it.

its total shite. but there is NO money in breakcore, unless you have made iit TOP BIG, like VS.... because there is no money trickling down from them, to support other artists,..they either come out for snares, or they see raxyor on a flyer, and say forget it

Dubstep is only an evolution of Garage/2-step. It has absolutely nothing to do with breakcore besides the fact that it's pretty easy to make, and producers with the technical abilities necessary to make breakcore, can tear it the fuck up in a genre like dubstep.

Breakcore needs to evolve to. How does it evolve though, when you are already pushing the limits of what is good versus what is nonsense?

Maybe it doesn't evolve so much in sound, as it does in mentality. I see alot of pretty juvenile themes and "angry teenager" type stuff going on. It's really fun, but, people will grow out of stuff like that. If you go the other way though, you face the challenge of not coming off to snobby.

K, I checked site, where you can get some info about parties etc- screw you dubstep, you hear? There's like dubstep party every week in my place. Ok, i know there aren't many gabfags who enjoy bpm 300+ with some hard stuff, but dubstep, you bastard child! You are taking bcore place

Dubstep now imo has fallen into the problem where its now very easy to make cliche dubstep. I don't know how many tracks I've heard where the song is nothing more than a 2-step rhythm, a wobble bass line and samples from the film Snatch.

Dubstep is okay, but I'd rather listen to Scorn (although his latest releases sound like fecking dubstep!) or Harris' Hed Nod sessions.

Some of the stuff that the producers in Vancouver are making is good. That Justin Timberlake dubstep remix that some douche decided to make is not.

But yeah, just because music has a lot of bass doesn't make it good, contrary to the trend. I blame teenage homies high on ketamine.

its definitely become a lot more popular in my area over the past 18 months or so. i like some dubstep but theres a lot of shit tracks being made seems like.

my personal pet peeve is tracks with god-awful fake horns.

I listen to dubstep and its not that bad......BUT! .... in malta its a new thing here and some artists playing at bloc (which is full of steppers) are invading this island...im not saying its a bad thing because i hate listening to the same music in every party ....their artists are not bad but if you listen to more than 3 hrs youl bang your head to death, and youll notice that most of the tracks in the dubstep genre are all the same bmbmbmkkbmwooomwoom...
anyway ilke a few artist though;) (milanese, skream, Benga, plastician,boxcutter,benga,virus syndicate)

i think its a very good genre of music to smoke to...nonetheless fuckin boring at a club unless you are with a vodka in one hand a cigarette in the other and a girl dancing hornily below your belt...
