haha oh yeah, i stole that idea from a friend by the name of [Ed Dead]

he said that he wanted to make a breakcore track that was just the complete amen break loop for 6 minutes.

i did just that but instead just made it 30 seconds long

hes such a dull cunt, i couldnt give a shit about ATR or alec tbh and especially relating breakcore to politics and blah blah blah.

breakcore its noisy fast jungle hardcore fusion, nothing more to it.

choppy amen, nasty reeces, harsh pads and hilarious samples, who cares where it came from

You are the reason breakcore sucks, you fucking twat.

people like you are the reason this site is shit.

breakcore is just music, fuckin brilliant music in fact, but i couldnt give 2 shits about its origin or people like yourself, grow up and stop taking it so seriously, i play it because i like it, and i run nights because i like booking my favourite artists to see people skanking the fuck out to breakcore... end of

I'm glad you found breakcore nine weeks ago, good work on grasping the entire genre and not just the current trend.

Unless you have something to say, which many artists (ATR, Alec Empire, Bomb20, Patric C, LFO-Demon, DHC-Meinhof, F_noise, Phallus über Alles etc. etc.) had and still has. Breakcore has some political roots, even if most breakcore now is 4chancore.

Yes, heaven forbid I should occasionally have a point to make. Opinions are for terrorists!

Ironically, thats wat breakcore is all abouth.....being (or having) the greatest dick ever.....and mixing stuff...
Dont takke shit so siriusly. Breakcore made a fusion with Girltalk and its sampeling friends. Its hard to tel the Difference between the stuf the samplers makke and Kid606, Sickboy and Michipet....from al of this will new shit happen... the next step wil be more agresive and faster Dubsteb likke....Beats in the Basement and Duttin Attal (from Dj-C).....
Well Im prety drunk richt now so....Im going to sleep....or somthing....Just watchet 3-10.To.Yuma....its a greath movie.....good to see that greath movies can stil be made......the same goes for Musick and Art and shit....I need a drink.

My real opinion. I love the Breakcore from the past and today...it all has the same spirith over it...dont take al things to Searisly, Love joure brothers and sisters and see Humor (and SEX) in all that is GOD....Life like a mother focker.....LIFE LIKE NEVER BEFORE......HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

hm, lets just agree that 1000sofsamplescore, comedygabbercore and ultradarkshitcore are over and move on to fresher stuff. i still havent heard enough bossa nova bcore with samba edges, there still needs to be more breakrape-house and i think minimal+bcore would be the single greatest challenge to producers

lets see if i make a breakrape-house remix of the electro-tune im doing atm...
or maybe psytrancecore?

oh btw i dont wanna say that taking genres and adding amenz over them is innovation, i was more thinking like combining stylistic devices of several genres and infusing them into your music, like the use of white noise in house music and stuff.

Check Mike V2.0 - Belief in the basic

It's how I imagine minimal Breakcore could sound. It's just a bit of Amen fiddling for the most part but I quite like it, it's downbeat and relatively straight forward.

Wow, really interesting thread, most pleasuable to read Alec's ideas and replys, and also reading peoples reactions.

Trying to draw some conclusions from it all..

I guess one thing I think would be worth remembering is the time and place of it all. The ideas about defining a genre with a manisfesto might seem slightly extravigent and over the top. But excessive actions are always motivated by passion. Reading the comments about german neo nazi techno describing itself as the true music of germany etc I can really see why some passionate individuals would go to extreme measures to craft a different sonic identity, make every effort to dissasociate themselves from it etc.

I also dont think it's worth taking to heart the comments of how if your tracks arent made with a hardware sampler and analogue desk it isnt true breakcore. Again, it goes back to the initial conception, he defines the sound and the music one way, just because you tracks do not conform to his definition, is not a reflection on the quality of your tracks overall. just as to whether the genre clssification is "valid" in the individuals opinion

One things definately right tho, you can get a Akai sampler for fuck all off ebay, and if you're savy a proper analogue desk for very little, MUCH cheeper than a laptop.

I think the idea of physical interaction with your equiptment is 100% valid, regardless of if its midi controller, a desk, or a distortion box. When the adrenaline is flowing, the music is loud and the crowd is exploding, having buttons to punch and sliders to rattle, its the fuckin dogs bollox, and it all feeds back =D

What I try and take away from this, as is the same with regular discussions of a similar flavour.. Is that the ideas and motivations that began this kinda musical movement, are perhaps less potent now then 10-15 years ago, but that isnt to say that people are any more satisfied with politcal, social, economical situation, just that perhaps the focus has shifted and changed.

What I try to remember is that the ideas that Alec was seaking to address, Neo nazisim, defacement of cultural identity etc, are things that I cannot express frustrations at with the same zeal, since they are not as prevalent to me. But the opposite also aplies, the things that I find inspiration and motivation from, and the "scene" as I experiance it, are undoubtedly very removed from his experiances.
So it is hardly a suprise that my approach and concepts of making music are also completely different from his.

Im sorry, but you get this with absolutely ANY time of music, you compare it to something similar from 15 years previous and of course there will be massive differences it would be a pointless comparison. But for me, it is this constant need to compare todays music with music from 15 years ago that causes dissagreements, dissastisfaction, and stiffles the growth of music into the future..

Meh.. My tuppence =D
