Word, try the Kitchen. It's the best source for random "ping" hits. I based an album around samples like this. 3 things to try = Milk jug, knife sharpener, and crystal glass harmonics(rubbing your finger around the top with a little water).

I used to sample a train when i got to bored while travelling. I recorded it with my mp3-player so it sounded like shit but i kinda liked it anyway.

I dont know how many times that sort of thing has happened to me. Or I'll think someone's listening to breakcore on their headphones when I'm on the bus but then I realize it was just the transmission on the bus.
