i like sauce. any food with sauce, tomato sauce, chipotle sauce, bbq sauce, pickle sauce. i put sauce on everything.
one of my favorite sauces is hollandaise. i love me some eggs benedict w/ hollandaise sauce. if a restaurant makes a mean eggs benedict, then i give them mad props.

You can always trust a man who likes a good sauce.

Draegg wrote:So how come you started to do dubstep? Loved Universal force, that shit has been a staple of parties around here! And do you have any production techniques you´d like to share? (in dubstep/breakcore whatever)
thanks! glad youre rinsin universal force
i started doing dubstep because i saw that it was where a lot of underground electronic music was heading. when a lot of my fav underground artists started making electro and dubstep, i thought to myself "hey, maybe ill try this out" the first dubstep track that i heard that blew me away was Datsik-Gecko. that track to this day is still a model example of the power and space that dubstep can simultaneously have.
i have a lot of production techniques, ask a more specific question
(eg "how do you get drum sounds?" "how do you approach a mix" etc.) i produce/engineer more than just electronic music too, so i can talk about pretty much any kind of recording technique. i have done classical recording, jazz recording, rock, hip hop, metal, breakcore, house, drum & bass, dubstep and more, so go ahead and ask something specific. the more specific, the more detail i'll give you.

Okay here goes: How do you do your dubstep wobblez? Massive? Reason? Any tips for really fucked upped breakcore drums? Breakcore basslines?
i do my dubstep wobbles mostly with massive. i do a lot of stuff in reason, but mostly sample based stuff (i love the nn-xt) the key to doing sick wobbles is to do your subbass and your mid/highs separately so you can process them. the fattest bass youre ever gonna get is a sine wave (disagree with me, but its true) the rest of the "wobble" is an lfo modulating a low pass filter. there are some tricks in massive that pretty much all of the big dubstep producers are using, and ive figured some of them out, but the game is always changing. thats why you gotta stay on top of your releases and the charts.
breakcore drums are really all about sitting down and programming. i can tell in 10 seconds whether someone used dblue glitch. shit sounds like ass. my whole setup for drums is a two stage process. the first stage is accumulating sounds and arranging them into a giant 100-plus key NNXt sampler. i go in and manually adjust the levels (so they all are about the same loudness), panning stuff out and layering samples on top of each other. then i put an octave (up and down) pitch bend on all the samples. thats the first stage. i do this when im stone sober and it usually takes about 6-10 hours
the second stage (which i usually do while consuming a 6 pack of beer) is basically just programming midi notes into a single midi track in reason. i dont know many breakcore producers that program this way (most use renoise or some tracker) but i prefer being able to SEE what is going on. im gonna learn renoise some day, but its low on my priority list (im gonna learn reaktor first) if you really want, i can show you some of the midi ive programmed. its pretty fucked up, but you can totally see why my breakcore sounds the way it does.
if you want, you can still get even more specific. this is fun.

Draegg wrote:wow very generous answer, thnx man! I actually do the same with my breakcore drums but in fl studio, i spend like a couple of hours a day just to sequence drums to learn more, i´d love to se some of the midi!
When are we going to see an epic HORSE FORCE SAMPLEPACK OF DOOM?
i had a horseforce samplepack that i was giving out for a while, only to people who have a couple hundred posts on this forum. maybe we can have a samplepack contest or something where i put together the samples... we'll see. prob have to consult john merrik to do that.

rock hole was my first musical pregnancy. i have a new project im working on right now. not gonna tell you too much, but it involves dinosaurs, aliens, and a hollywood blockbuster hit.
there are at least 7 members in rock hole at any given time. it is a rotating lineup. if you got the funds, ill play a rock hole gig this summer for ya. the equipment rider is kind of insane though....
