breakcore is definately anti-social!

Dead or alive, I'll be listening to breakcore for a very long time. It's too delicious for me to let go. I'm very picky about music, and it's one of the few genres I like.
One of my favorite things is discovering a great album and obsessing over it for a while. I thank Divtech, Broken NVEP, Bath Aide and many others for allowing me to experience that with breakcore. I hope good artists keep emerging. This genre is too awesome to die.
(Also, dubstep has been making me very angry lately. I don't HATE it, but the fact that some of my favorite artists [Cex, Kid606] have stopped making the music I love and started making dubstep makes me furious.)

yes this forum is rubbish and has been for a while. I rarely ever come on because there's rarely any interesting discussions, or if there are any they're hidden within the complex multi-dimensional web of sub-forums. of course there have been some cool things like the q&a with ladyscraper, alec empire etc. which i very much appreciate, but as someone else already said i think its a kind of vicious cycle where you get lame 3-posters, less intelligent discussion, less intelligent people discussing intelligent things > less intelligent discussion etc etc.
its a shame because despite breakcore being regarded as one of these new-fangled genres that rose in popularity due to online activity, it is actually the only scene that has no real online 'home'.
i refuse to believe breakcore is dead or that nobody wants to listen to it or talk about it. just the other week I played a gig in london, the music was 100% undiluted breakcore/hardcore/gabba/speedcore/jungle...the turnout was amazing and the vibe was incredible.
I think if we had a fresh start- an accessible, simple, and usable breakcore forum- in time a new online community would build up, a community in which we could finally drop the whole self-despairing "wtf is breakcore...i hate breakcore...bla bla bla" bullshit because its fucking old and lame, and start actually supporting each other with production, promotion, and just generally being a constructive, functional online community.
if the fucking dubstep scene can do it...considering the intelligence of the average dubstep fan...I'm sure we can do it

when i started coming on this site, it was because of all the personalities on here. people with fine taste (many who dont post anymore) making fun of each other and only agreeing on absurd shit.
now every thread is either someone complaining about the breakcore being dead, someone complaining about any other genre that isnt breakcore, or someone trying to download samples. no one on here really listens to each other's music anymore. no one shares cool things they found on here anymore, and when someone does, no one is around to see it so the tread gets bumped down by 3posters.
like ive said before on other threads like this one, if you want to get an active participation in a site, someone has to put time in it and make it look like an active community. unfortunately, the people who made this site have no interest in it anymore, the daddy of the site (Merrik) is probably dead (this is my theory) so in a way, the family has no one in charge
lately ive been like the abusive neglectful uncle who only shows up every once in a while to tell everyone how stupid they are, but hey, i wouldnt have to be if all these damn kids werent so lazy these days. i get hit up by many dubstep heads who are active producers and want to trade tracks and musical ideas every day. i barely ever get hit up by any breakcore heads anymore, other than people telling me to "make more songs like blahblahblah." if you really wanted it that bad, you would go make it yourself.
the same thing goes for this site. if you want to make it a community, just start posting more interesting content and people will check it out.

I agree with Horseforce all the way long ... so I decided to try to come here more often and try to post more stuff that I find interresting and I hope that it will be the same for you.
I have start a post for sharing composition and producing technics with each other so if some of you are interrested it can be a good start for keeping the forum alive in a good way

word! keep this thread alive

Its true, we are all guilty of it in some way, just complaining about it and ecxpecting someone else to do something about it isnt going to get anywhere fast. I feel quite bad for the people that actually donated to keep the site going. In a way those of us who didn't donate owe it to the community to make more of an effort to keeps things pumping!
