Where to travel for breakcore?
Now, i know NOTHING about "where" breakcore is, in the world and have recently been gaining interest in traveling to actually experience the culture.
Can anybody here who has experienced breakcore outside a slow internet connection tell me a little bit about where they live, the language that's spoken there, how to get some simple job there, and if there are breakcore clubs/record shops there?
TL;DR: Where should i move if i want to experience breakcore and is life relatively easy there for somebody who's interested in learning the language and migrating?
It will all be much appreciated

Jou love Breakcore so much jou would move to a difrent country? I love joure attitude.
Berlin is hot and has some good, swat partys.
In nederland joure got the Randstad (Amsterdam, Roterdam, Denhaag) . There is a lot going on there.
Also the Nederlanders speak English and German and somtimes some France. Besides the randstad, there is Groningen, Nijmegen, Tilburg, Eindhoven and Enschede (gobot festival = http://2011.gogbot.nl/)
I dont know about Belgium, but rumers go that Antwerpen is very, Breakcore.

Ghent in Belgium is/was splendid. I'm sure Belgium in general is top, only a small country so not too difficult to traverse it should you need to travel to a show.
I can vouch for the UK, particularly London, Bristol and Brighton. It's not as if there is a Breakcore show every night, but usually at least once a month there is something big going down, in London at least.

I don't know if you'd want to do this, due to bad economical outcome in California, but L.A. is good in the breakcore department. It's more of a fusion of IDM and Breakcore though, so it depends on your tastes.
Record labels for breakcore are in these cities, so I'd consider them as well:
London
Newcastle, Australia
Berlin

When i first heard breakcore (as in "punk"-attitude breakcore) it was a revelation to me. In Iceland all "computer music" is really just seen as any other "techno" and if any "big names" play here, it's almost ALWAYS because some sociopathic money-grabbing marketing-thinker wants to make a quick buck and then keep making big bucks. There really isn't a lot of stuff that comes to Iceland to stay, because it's always been a secluded place and always will me. Also: all that Icesave bullshit? I see it as nothing more than the 21st century version of the classic viking "eye for an eye, for personal reasons". So, yeah. I dislike this secluded piece of sheep-testicle-induced... uh... stomach ache. I should point out that i've never eaten that shit... because no self-respecting person wants to EAT BALLS by choice.
That festival looks pretty fuckin' interesting though. Not only because of the art displayed there, but because they're brave enough to point out that the visual arts are in the style of for example (like they say) Youtube Poop (which can sometimes be like breakcore, but made with video samples in video editors), which "normal" people wouldn't ever bare to watch, haha. That kind of stuff i respect, being brave enough to point stuff like that.
I've actually been to Belgium once, reasons don't matter, but i liked the place. It was full of seemingly chill and cool people, which is the opposite of what I, personally, see everyday here in Iceland. Not everybody here is a stupid fuck though, but if i'd tell you what "normal" teens here do in their free time you'd agree with me that they're pretty shallow people.

I've always been curious about the UK and it's culture. It's similar to Iceland in being secluded and there's got to be a reason why most people think "cockney drunks drinking ales like its breast milk" when they think about the UK. I don't, because of people like you who obviously frequent these forums and... are not shallow people like the Icelandic people I've been seeing everyday for half my life until now (lived in Denmark from age 2 to age

But what about the riots and all that stuff, How does that affect the music and the breakcore culture, within the UK culture?

As i know you've heard my music, i don't think i have to explain that i prefer the "punk"-attitude breakcore

Of these 3 cities i'd say that London and Berlin are best for me personally. Australia is a pretty secluded island in the middle of the ocean, just like Iceland which I've grown to realize is not my piece of shit... i mean cake

I'm also a bit curious about Canada. If anybody has anything they want to tell me about breakcore there, it'd be really appreciated. Just remember i know jack shit about local breakcore cultures around the world other than the replies to this thread, haha

Winnipeg in Canada is where Venetian Snares is from, but he has an album named, "Winnipeg is a Frozen Shithole". So that wouldn't be much of a change up for you after what I read you say about Iceland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_br ... ord_labels
I'm basing my information off of the locations of these record labels, but from what I've seen there are no record labels in Canada. Also, as you already know, breakcore isn't the most popular genre in the world, so it's pretty hard to find any information about it.
London, Berlin, and Los Angeles are the biggest places for breakcore, from what I've seen though.
And don't go to the Netherlands, unless you're into Hardstyle as well, because that is huge there.

Check out events like Earblender in Brixton, London. Bang Face is back at the Electrowerkz in Islington London. Rigormortis in Nottingham or some of the Wrong Music events in Brighton. Relentless Hardcore is always amazing at a warehouse complex called Motion in Bristol. Hope this helps.
Step 1: Wait til April or May next year (I know that's a while, but it'll be worth it)
Step 2: Go to Bangface Weekender 2012.
Step 3: Rave your balls off.
That should keep you satisfied til next year.
Alternatively set up your own night, and invite your favourite artists to play, most of whom I'm sure will have never played in Iceland and would be well up for it.

Jea....how can he aford that? There is no sean. I am breaking my head over this problem to. In Maastricht, there is also no sean. The luck I have is thet in a nearby sity, Sittart, there are some Breakcore dudes.
So....I think of making nights with hard breakstep, Jungle, Drum and base and combining them wit breakcore. I think I can make have my own soundsistem. I only need 2 or 3 amps and a space.

Yeah, i knew Mr. Snares was from Canada and fucking hated the place... to me that's a bit of a temptation for me to visit Winnipeg and see how similar to Iceland it is, and in what ways. It'd be interesting.
London, Berlin and LA... i don't think i'd fit in any of those cities. London, maybe... but those riots better chill out then, haha

Also, thanks for the Hardstyle warning... that shit is NOT my cup of tea.

I saw some Bang Face video trailer online recently and i'm pretty interested in it. Warehouse raves... well, i just think they're fucking badass, haha. Thanks for bothering to reply, it's appreciated

Like i wrote earlier, i think Bang Face is fucking interesting and i really wanna experience it. Now all i need to do is save up some money and find somebody who'd want to keep me company, it'd definitely be fucking awesome.
But the "set up your own night" wouldn't work, as i don't have ANY breakcore friends here. Even if i were to set up my own night, either
a) Nobody would show because in Iceland nobody gives a shit about stuff they haven't heard of before
or
b) The police would harass the place and ultimately shut it down and leave me with loudness tickets or some bullshit like that. The police here are fucking corrupt compared to the size of this little place.

Exactly, there is NO scene here and the people are too close-minded to give previously-unheard-of stuff an honest chance. But i say you try throwing some rave or setting up a show or however you want to put it, and advertise it ANYWHERE. You could even look at it as a social experiment, see what kind of people might be interested in breakcore and then you know who to invite if you'll do it again
