I'm partial to the infamous Roland Other... the first of it's kind to have automatic breakbeat pattern matching, granular humanizing of its already great physically modeled spectral modulation drum synthesis, predictive rhythm quantizer for live performance, and of course, the ever controversial neural interface.... many users protested against the manufacturer's decision to implement the neural interface through the intrusive, though mandatory anal "jack", but I kinda like how comfortable they made it.

Roland drums
Since this topic only deals with Roland I picked the 909.
My real favorite, and still in my studio, is the Casio RZ1. This is the only profesional drum computer ever produced by Casio and it has a really unique sound (esspecially the open highhat).

I love a 909 because it's so dry. Still you can distort the shit out of it and it keeps its integrity while it gets dirty.
Dirty, and dry.

I'm a sucker for the warm analog goodness of the 808. Also, that sine wave bass is the best.
The first drum machine I ever used though was a Roland R8 Human Rhythm Composer. That thing was pretty sweet back in the day. I'd match it up with a Casio SK-1, Casio SK-5 and a Tascam 4 track tape deck... boy, I'm really dating myself here.
