i heard that breakcore was arrested for exposing itself to an 8 8year old. had to do 6 months in cheeno, then after it got out it had to go around the neighborhood telling people it was a paederast...

dunno about the the rest of the u.s. [i hear good things about the west coast and have seen some interesting things in LA, also hear the midwest is kickin pretty well again], but i can tell you that the "scene" or more so "[non]scene" here in NYC is an uphill battle...

first it's pretty hard competing against more mainstream and well established [as in long time running] commercial club nights in the city. it's also a hard since electronic music is not popular in the states as it is overseas. let alone trying to explain what music at our party "sounds like", it's hard to get new people out to events...

here if it's not some cookie cutter thug gangstalicious [c]rap, most people are lost. well let's face it, they are lost period, but we always hustle to try and bring people in from every walk of life and it has been paying off, but it's also hard to try to bring some "established" breakcore producers [i.e. some "high profile" producers, who we would think would generate a good amount of people to come out] when they think they can charge us hundreds of dollars [euros, etc.] just to play at out at our event, when we usually either make it free or $5, just to attract new people...

we just stick to our guns and the people who do show up are usually the ones who we can count on to be there every time. even those that show up without any idea of what we're about get really excited and start asking, when's the next one? so i guess we're on the move here. we just gotta keep it going...

we will hopefully be announcing our plans for '08 soon, as were talking to a bunch of people from all over the world and trying to schedule every one and everything. we just don't want to jump the gun and announce anything that isn't set in stone, but with a lil luck '08 will see some pretty serious audio devastation in NYC...

I agree, most of the high profile people want the 5 star treatment. If the gig will generate 10 000 dollars, then yeah here some money, but it's not like there is any talent behind twisting knobs on a midi controller fuck that.

Also, in the breakcore world you have to suck a lot of cyber dick to get people to ask you to play or be on their label.

Even if all that was fixed, the dancers think it's to rough and the moshing / rock guys think it's "techno".

On top of all that, producers seem to hate each other.

Break down the cliqs, the "techno" stigmas (thank you drumcorps!!!), and egos and we might be able to have more events.

There's no chance for a battle out here in Cleveland. The electronic scene and clubs out here are run by a bunch of snot-nosed punks.

Shit man, retards are still booking dieselboy. (Same guys though booked Klute outta the UK though, which was actually a step in the right direction, nothing good after that though.)
