Definitely Richard D. James but the Come to Daddy EP comes close because the bass\drums on the title track (or one of it's remixes I should say) are so sickening. Also one of my first experiences with such breaks.
Amon Tobin though, much better. Anyone a fan? I love 'Supermodified'. It starts to nice then starts to decend into the darkness.

i personally havent' bought or had much interest in Rich James, or Aphex Twin since "I Care Because You Do" came out. I know there's been some ok music released since then, i've just never been interested in the hype.. if ya get me.
Analogue Bubble Bath 3 was a big find for me waaaay back when. I still have the original unlabelled cd it was sold as in storage somewhere.
On a related note, it always confuses me as to why peeps new to "breakcore" think Aphex Twin has some big influence on the music / scene. I personally don't think that's valid at all. Just a thought.

I agree with ya Torment. I've never thought Aphex had anything to do with Breakcore. IDM & Electronica definitely but not Breakcore.

best Aphex Twin stuff is the Caustic Window releases, I like the Polygon Window Quoth remix and the R&S Stuff.
All the old stuff sounds pretty harsh and has a lot of good metallic clanky noises.
