okay, whats the deal with lastfm? is it just another site like myspace? i see it mentioned quite a bit but when i look at it cant see anything that special... tell me tell me :)

Its like a music only myspace in a way. You can put up label and artist profiles with videos, music, info, discography and more. The thing that really makes it different/special is they have plugins for various music players (itunes, windows media player and more) which will track what you listen to and compiles records of it and then "suggests" like minded people on last.fm and also music you might enjoy. Also the plugin can work as a streaming radio player and more.

They've added a bunch of new stuff, but I've not been on mine in a long time. So check it out and give it a try, I'm sure you'll probably see a lot of plays for your stuff on there and be surprised.
