Tend to agree, breakcore is like sex... weird ackward teenage sex... the kind where you would both be more satisfied if you hadnt done it, but needed to do it just to scratch the itch...
Breakcore fun!
Breakcore fun!
I don't need a fucking signature... WolfMerrik.com
I remember being told to come to a Breakcore rave a few years ago in Cambridge and refusing because i thought it was just another name for Breakbeat. Kinda like the same mistake i made when i was 14 thinking Hard House was actually hard....(ah ha ha ha)
My definition of Breakcore is just every genre mixed into a big hole filled with dirt, no structure and no purpose.

Breakcore is the audio equivilent to a blank piece of paper with a pallete of anything you can get your pirate ripping thieving hands on, should be called pikeypiratecore but that would be rediculous and you'd end up getting chased out of the rave community, and into some neighborhood watch program with milky tea, curtain twitching, paranoid old people and the local cuntstabulary.
In fact breakcore was invented by Harold Shipmann, When he pushed Ethel Harris down the stairs, the falling body on the polished woodwork produced a crude "amen" style breakbeat arrangement to his ears.
After he died in prison, officers found his work which was then shunned by the party-going masses untill aphex twin came on the scene with hits such as Windowlicker and Come to daddy, thus a new genre was born, and we have the mass murdering old git to thank for it...

It's just drum and bass, slowed right down so that it's even less interesting than its faster counterpart.
