Hello breakcore nutters! I am a new member & thought i'd tell u all about a classic breakcore / gabba cd album you all must try & find, it's called 'Constant Mutation' released in 2000 by dj's HELLFISH & PRODUCER, it is an amazing album you have to listen to! it's full on & hard as fuck!

I'll probably get shot and raped in the pancreas for saying this, but I don't find Hellfish or Producer's stuff to be that heavy. Too many closed and gated kicks, I must say I prefer the beefy open kicks found in generic dutch Hardcore, even if that style is less techy and is rammed full of dance pads.

I still quite like Hellfish and Producer, and the other stuff in their field (Such as Brian Fury etc), and live it seems much louder, but on record it's just so Tame for the most part. Seriously, I own Scott Brown tracks that are louder and heavier.

i duuno how you can call any artists from that style ('frenchcore' anyone?) tame, compared to some the weak music some somehow passing as breakcore being worshiped on sites like this

I wouldn't really call Hellfish or Producer 'Frenchcore', particularly seeing as they are both UK based artists. I'd call it UK Hardcore or Gabber (Not to be confused with the original branch of UK Hardcore such as Hixxy et al). I don't try to pass dutch Gabber off as Breakcore, I do try to pass it off as something that more than often uses bigger squared waveform kicks, with Industrial reverb and filter effects, making for a louder and more kick ass bass drum.

Edit: And before anyone starts whinging with the "omg how can u call that better than Hellfish", I'm not, I'm saying it's less techy, but that the kick is distinctively harder.
