I found an 8-bit psytrance track once. That was the only time I liked psytrance. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing...

Anyone ever hear the Utabi album "Manchurian Candy". Its not straight chip stuff cos there is alot of other instrumentation, processing etc.

Its the same as any other genre really as in there are a few people who do it well and alot of people who do it badly. Apart from Scotch Egg and some others already mentioned I would rather actually listen to old video game sound tracks.

I like quarta330 he does some chiptune/dubstep. I have a live set of him and it hammers on a nice system and for some reason I enjoy it alot.
