moms in the basement wrote:Well you could try to program an usb controller or midi keyboard with your desired music program. I bought a midi controller weeks ago but it takes a huge amount of time learning how to program the damn thing some things are just easier to do with a mouse. Just look into it before buying, its a fact you cant just hook up your equipment and play with it, which is sad coz it limits the fun in these things.
Really? Programming a controller is the easiest thing you can do! Just select "midi learn" on your program and then press the button on your controller. It is a fact that you can just hook up your equipment and play with it. That's the whole point.

So i got Ableton live 7, now what? haha. I get the concept of this program, but its still a little confusing. I can't seem to make the drum patterns i want to make... Any ways. I came back to ask if the Akai MPD24 midi control pad. Would be a good choice to go with my set?
what terrible advice!
If you want to be a true breakcore master I suggest you purchase a couple of cheap samplers, like an mpc500 or a roland sp-404, some CF cards, a kaos pad, a distortion pedal, and most important a cheap mixer. transfer crappy samples to the CF cards and plug them into your samplers, trigger as you go and fuck up with your kaos pad and distortion pedal.
now you won't look like every breakcore laptop jockey pressing play on their spacebar.
or you can go the turntable route and just mix and mash up records and cds. Hecate does that live and it works reallly well. I've Vsnares do it a lot as well.
whatever works, just work it hard!
